A recital of resistance with Marina Rossell – Pride Month

June 26 @ 7:00 pm 8:45 pm

On the occasion of Pride Month, the renowned Catalan singer-songwriter Marina Rossell presents a concert in which she will share her life and musical journey with the Dublin audience. Accompanied by pianist Xavi Lloses and his guitar, and in conversation with Elena Moya, writer and director of the Morella Literary Festival, Marina’s music and words will bring us closer to her personality and the ideas that have characterised her career: rebellion and protest since the Franco dictatorship, feminism, sexual freedom, Catalanness, and, of course, love.

Marina Rossell was born in La Gornal (Spain), a village in Penedès between the sea and the mountains. Since the beginning of her musical career in 1974, she has recorded more than 20 albums, such as the initial Penyora, which included the mythical song “La Gavina,” or Cançons de la Resistència, released in 2015. She has just published No faré cap més llibre (I Won’t Write Any More Books), a book written by Albert Om based on conversations with the artist. Marina has collaborated with a multitude of authors and performers.
