Pride Village returns on Parade Day

We listened to what you said and this year we’ve made Pride Village bigger and better than ever. Situated in and around Merrion Square, Dublin 2, we have a full day of activities and entertainment for everyone to enjoy. As in previous years our Parade will culminate in Merrion Square where we’ll have the opportunity to listen to our Grand Marshals as well as other guest speakers who have contributed to the LGBTQ community, but we have so much more planned for you this year.

Pride Village will open at noon of Saturday 27th of June. Inside the park as well as our community zone and family area we are delighted to have entertainment from the always wonderful team at Hunt & Gather all day long. If you’re feeling under-dressed don’t worry, Sparkle Costumes will be on hand to help get you dressed up and show the world how fabulous you are.

Feeling hungry or thirsty, we have it covered. There will be food and refreshment stalls with something for everyone both inside and outside the park as well as seating areas to relax and enjoy your food. And if you want a souvenir, visit our official Dublin LGBTQ Pride merchandise shop.

Worried you’ll miss the action on main stage as you explore the village, don’t. With 3 big screens you won’t miss a minute. We look forward to seeing you there for the festival of the year.

Marry me!

It’s the chorus’s annual summer concert extravaganza that promises – whatever the weather – to bring a little sunshine, sparkle and a frisson of passion!

Summertime and the livin’ is easy and the livin’ don’t get any easier than the Dublin Gay Men’s Chorus annual Summer Serenade concert. Titled “Marry Me!” following the recent successful marriage equality referendum, the concert sets the scene for what promises to be a razzle-dazzle afternoon of song, music and love.

Barry Joyce, director of the Dublin Gay Men’s Chorus, says, “The guys are delighted to present this concert as part of Dublin Pride in one of the city’s most striking buildings – Dublin’s CHQ. We want people to feel the joys of Summer love and so love will be a running theme throughout our musical selection. We hope that as many people as possible will join us for what promises to be an unforgettable afternoon of romance and affection!”

The chorus was formed in 2012 and numbers approximately 30 members. Rehearsals for the concerts have been underway since January with intensive weekly sessions in Dublin’s Liberty Hall.

The concert will be held in Dublin’s CHQ Building on Saturday June 20 at 3.30pm.

Pride in our trans* friends and family

Looks like we have one more thing to celebrate at Pride this year!

Thanks to the tireless efforts of TENI, the government has stripped out many of the controversial and restrictive elements of the Gender Recognition Bill and what’s being proposed to the Dáil is a much more flexible law that will finally bring legal recognition to our trans* citizens.

Ireland said YES

We are still processing the amazing news that Ireland has voted in Marriage Equality. The wonderful news was announced from Dublin Castle on Saturday afternoon to a crowd of thousands, and a worldwide audience of millions. Dublin Pride would just like to congratulate not only the Yes Equality campaign for their amazing work, but the many many organisations and individuals who made this happen. Whether you simply voted YES, took part in canvassing or helped coordinate your community to make change happen, every vote mattered and your contribution will never be forgotten.

Here is a lovely video from the great folks at GAZE celebrating the wonderful news.
