Beyond protest and celebration, Pride connects our community, it brings us together, and for over 50 years it has kept us together. Winter Pride Dublin is an annual festival of LGBTQ+ events and activities designed to help bring the community together, reconnect friends and showcase all the resources and supports available at a time when people often need them the most.
This year, due to covid restrictions, we have spread the events over a longer period to create a Winter Pride season that starts with Trans Day of Remembrance on November 20th and runs to the end of January 2021.
Dublin Pride and Queer Culture Ireland present a special exhibition in Film Base on Curved Street, Templebar to mark the 30th anniversary of The Irish Names (AIDS Memorial) Quilt and the 35th anniversary of the establishment of Gay Health Action. The exhibition will be launched by The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Hazel Chu, on December 1st, World AIDS Day. The exhibition is viewed from the street and will run for the full month of December.
One of the most successful events of Winter Pride last year, Pride at Work will return as a free two day event on January 27th and 28th 2021. This year we will have a particular focus on adapting to new working conditions caused by Covid19 and the specific challenges LGBTI+ people face. The second day of the event will be tailored to those who have lost or are at risk of losing employment due to the covid crisis and those entering the workforce.
