Adam Long, Advocacy & Communications National LGBT Federation (NXF) & Dublin Pride Political Debate Chair
The annual Dublin Pride Political Debate, run in conjunction with the National LGBT Federation (NXF), has established itself as one of the most high-profile events on the Pride calendar.
The Debate this year takes place against the backdrop of ongoing government formation talks and it is imperative that LGBT rights are firmly on the agenda of whatever coalition emerges from those talks. From the need to enact comprehensive Hate Crime legislation to issues such as LGBT inclusive education and addressing global LGBT persecution, there is still much work to do in eradicating what President Michael D Higgins has referred to as the “scourge” of homophobia and transphobia.
So, join me and my panel of leading social and political thinkers as we discuss how best to advance LGBT equality in the Ireland of 2020 and beyond.
Date: Thursday, 18th June
Due to the Covid_19 pandemic, there will be no live audience this year. Instead the event will be streamed online from the CHQ Building on Custom House Quay
