National Action Group for LGBT+ Traveller and Roma Rights: Online Discussion
National Action Group for LGBT+ Traveller and Roma Rights
Formed in 2016 in partnership between local, regional and national LGBT+ Services, Traveller and Roma organisation and community members, the National Action Group for LGBT+ Traveller and Roma Rights aims to increase the promotion, protection, inclusion and celebration of LGBT+ Traveller and Roma communities within LGBT+, Traveller and Roma organisations and services.
Yearly we co-organise attendance to several pride events marches, have an annual ‘coming out day’ event and are currently running a ‘Coming out as an Ally’ campaign with the aim of encouraging community members to inform, support and stand up for LGBT+ Travellers and Roma.
The intersectionality of Sexuality, Gender identity and Ethnicity can often be a difficult place for LGBT+ Travellers and Roma who can experience a compounded discrimination and isolation.
With considerations of this years ‘Dublin Pride’ going digital we are organising an online Webinar with a Panel of LGBT+ Travellers, Roma, Romani and Gypsy participants who will be discussing their experiences, issues of discrimination within the LGBT+ community and how Pride is still very much a protest.
Webinar 22nd June, 7-8.30pm.
