DESCRIPTION:BOOK TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOverview \n\n\n\nThe original LGBTQ+ history walking tour of Dublin hosted by Tonie Walsh\, every day during Dublin Pride week. \n\n\n\nAbout this event \n\n\n\nLong considered an indispensable part of Dublin Pride\, Lavender Walk\, Tonie’s queer history tour of Dublin returns this June for a limited run. \n\n\n\nTour departs from Bernardo Square\, next to City Hall. Duration: 90 mins approx. Dress fabulous. \n\n\n\nYour Host\, Tonie Walsh\n\n\n\nArchivist\, activist and historian\, Tonie Walsh has had a long engagement with Ireland’s LGBTQ+ civil rights movement\, stretching back to 1979. He also has a huge knowledge of Dublin’s queer social history\, having spent many years working as a DJ and events promoter. \n\n\n\nTonie is a co-founder of GCN magazine\, which he edited during its early\, pioneering years. \n\n\n\nIn 1997\, he re-organised archive holdings of various groups including the National LGBT Federation into what would later become known as the Irish Queer Archive (IQA). The archive was transferred to state ownership at the National Library of Ireland in 2008. \n\n\n\nThroughout 2021\, he co-curated the ambitious Living With Pride programme at the National Library of Ireland. More recently\, he’s been involved with the digitisation of GCN\, Ireland’s oldest LGBTQ+ periodical. \n\n\n\nPraise for Lavender Walk\n\n\n\nThere was a lovely pace to the walk and Tonie is very giving in his stories. It didn’t feel fixed and structured. Albert \n\n\n\nTonie was such an amazing and welcoming person\, I highly recommend this to anyone who wishes to learn more about the LGBTQ cultuer in Dublin or Ireland. This visit was a great way to start my trip in Dublin. Thank you Tonie! Angélique \n\n\n\nWould highly recommend this. He was enthusiastic\, humourous\, informative but very emotional when telling true stories about real people who passionately tried to change laws and atttitudes. Born in the South Bronx in 1948\, she survived homelessness\, addiction\, incarceration\, and violence before becoming a co-founder and later the shelter program director of Queers for Economic Justice\, where she helped make NYC shelters safer for queer people. DESCRIPTION:GET TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDyke Night is back for 2026. \n\n\n\nA collaboration between Dublin Lesbian Line\, Dyke March and Dublin Pride this year’s event brings together performances\, public Dyke participation\, DJs\, and dancefloor energy to Dyke up your Pride weekend. \n\n\n\nFollowing the Dyke March through the city\, we’re taking over our expanded venue at Opium for a full night of performances\, audience participation\, music\, and late-night dancing. \n\n\n\nThe night will feature a new take on Dyke Night alongside a lineup of performers and interactive moments throughout the show. \n\n\n\nMore information — including sign-ups and participation details — will be announced soon. \n\n\n\nAfter the show\, Dublin Dyke March takes over the decks for a late-night DJ set running into the early hours.
